Arsenal FC Emirates Stadium
Solutions
Requirement
To design and install the main beer and soft drinks dispense systems throughout the new 60,000 seat Arsenal FC Emirates Stadium in the UK to meet a key target of serving half the spectators a pint of beer during the 15 minute halftime period. Currently most football stadiums can only serve a maximum of 15% of the crowd. In addition, the customer wanted to reduce the levels of wasted beer, which directly impacts on sales revenue – at any one time there are 1,700 pints of beer in the lines which would normally get thrown away at the end of each event.
Solution
Cornelius helped design a complete system that starts with 8 cold cellar keg rooms into which beer is delivered 3 days before the match and cooled to 2°C. Glycol coolant ensures that thebeer is kept at sub-zero within the dispense system. An electronic automated keg changeover system allowing up to 532 kegs to be connected to the system at any time, with a 9 second changeoverensures an uninterrupted flow of beer at the bar. A unique beer saver device was designed which saves 75% of the beer still in the 3 kilometres of delivery lines. Cornelius’ UltraFlow beer and soft drinks equipment delivers to 39 public concessions, 16 corporate bars and a 300 seat restaurant and is capable of dispensing 31,000 pints of beer at half time.
